Let's start with the facts. You are one person. You may be good at many things. You may even have been running your business as a "solopreneur" for many years. Without help, there is no way to maximize your potential and achieve extreme success. When you have the opportunity to focus on what you do best and allow others to do the same, your business will run more efficiently. Just imagine putting all of those entrepreneur hours to work in your focused skill set and talent. Let someone else handle the other parts. If you aren't an accountant, hire one. If you don't understand branding, hire a firm. If you google your contracts because you don't have a clue, hire a lawyer. (We've all done it.)
You must remain competitive
Having experts in each field help you ensure your business is maintaining a competitive edge. When you create your marketing strategy around your product or service, you should be communicating those internal strengths you have identified or created within your business. Having a dream team can be a great selling point. When potential customers and clients recognize that you have people on your team who provide excellent service in their specific niche, they are more likely to trust your branding and convert to customers. When building or adjusting your team, ask yourself "what expert do I have or can add to my team that the competition does not have or lacks?' That answer can be the propelling piece to grow your business.
Having a dream team can help you stay abreast of changes in your industry or industries related to your own. If you have team members who are experts, they will constantly know the latest. They will know all the tips and tricks for their job. They will be genuinely excited about the most up-to-date information and ready to implement in your business. Lucky for you, they can teach you along the way. They may never sit down and give you tutorials. But, having a dream team full of experts and people who are great in their skill set brings the education and updated information to you. Let them share what they know and learn. If your business has the resources, sponsor and support their education by sending them to seminars, conferences, etc. They get to grow in their career and you get all the information without having to spend as much time learning and researching. It's a win-win.
Having a dream team is a great idea. However, it isn't always easy to find the right people. Keep trying and keep looking. That dream team may be the step that takes you into another realm of business.
Go be great!
